Olympic Games - London 2012!

The Olympic Games are over :-(
..and what is left is a Games-Hangover but also plenty of awesome memories!!

No Olympic Medal for me..Oh well, I gave it my best try. Sometimes you win, Sometimes you loose..
Well Done to Jessica Rossi from Italy who broke 5 Junior, World and Olympic Records and has proven to be a true Olympic Champion.

I want to share some fond memories of my Olympic Games in London with you:

Namibias Sport Minister Kazenambo Kazenambo ‘s support during the games was very inspiring. I quote:

“Our overall expectation is to compete and win and go back home with a medal. But the best way to encourage a person to achieve something in life, is not to beat a drum, saying ‘win, win, win’ the whole time, the best way of building a psychology to win is to gain and to improve. But sometimes, to improve in a competition of this magnitude, I don’t think that mounting a lot of pressure is always right.”

We should congratulate ourselves although we should not celebrate a loss, but it’s a mixed bag. Let us celebrate the fact that the Land of the Brave is in the same league as big economies and empires with big budgets behind them. We must have a psychology of winning rather than a psychology of crying and not doing anything. Let’s encourage ourselves by celebrating our achievements by being here,” he concluded.

Thank You Dear Minister you seem to understand!

FLAG BEARER - OPENING CEREMONY

TEAM NAMIBIA

It was one of the proudest moments in my life. It was an honour for me to carry our flag and to lead the Namibian team into the Olympic Stadium. I’ll remember that moment for the rest of my life.

The support I’ve received via social media has been absolutely amazing. I'm very thankful to my family, the private sector and my National Olympic Committee for their Assistance. It makes me happy that there are people who support me.

My passion for shooting is as strong as ever. I will try out new techniques and welcome future challenges. I love shooting and I’m determined to one day win a medal for my country.

The Olympic Games get into your blood. It is so much about the journey and the experience of being part of something much bigger than yourself.
